Modern Bánh Mi Shop in Boca Raton : Bonjour Vietnam
During a hot summer day, Desi and I were getting hungry and we were thinking of getting something fulfilling, but also clean and healthy. We agreed on getting Bánh Mi for lunch. Bánh Mi is a Vietnamese sandwich with french bread which traditionally includes pickled vegetables and different varieties of meats (depending on what Bánh Mi chosen ).
Desi chooses to eat at Bonjour Vietnam, a small shop on Palmetto Road in Boca Raton, FL. The interior of the store was well decorated with Vietnamese influenced decor.
The Vietnamese Summer Rolls we have was made with rice paper and fresh ingredients using shrimp pork, basil, chives, lettuce, and rice noodles.
I prefer the traditional style of Bánh Mi. The traditional Bánh Mi contains pâté that’s made with the liver paste; so if you don’t like the taste of the liver, be sure to get your sandwich without it. If you haven’t tried pâté, I suggested that you give it a try. It is delicious!
Desi likes her Bánh Mi with grilled pork, so she has decided to get the caramelized pork Bánh Mi.
The caramelized pork made with pork belly, unlike the regular grilled pork Bánh Mi. If you like fatty pork definitely get the caramelized pork Bánh Mi; if you prefer leaner pork, get the grilled pork Bánh Mi. We also ordered Vietnamese iced coffee and iced passion fruit tea. I really enjoyed Vietnamese iced coffee, which I can get pretty picky about; Desi enjoyed her iced passion fruit tea. The tea was really refreshing since we were dying from the hot weather. They also serve vegan Vietnamese iced coffee, which we don’t usually come across. Desi’s brother tried it and told us it was good.
Overall, the place Bonjour Vietnam is great. The Bánh Mi from Bonjour Vietnam was pricier to other Vietnamese restaurants that also had similar food offerings. But it is understandable because of the location it was in.
